Larry G. Hafford

Larry Gene Hafford, Sr., of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the St. Francis Hospital, in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Hafford was born June 26, 1947, in Poplar Bluff to the late Paul and Bertha (Foster) Hafford. He had retired as a TV cable installer and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hafford was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the American Legion and Eagles Lodge. An avid sports fan he especially enjoyed baseball. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and meeting his friends at coffee shops.

Survivors include his close companion, Mary Osborn, of Poplar Bluff; three children, Larry G. Hafford, Jr. and wife Dee, April Rice and husband Larry, and Lee Hafford, all of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Lara Hafford, Alexis Hafford, Ronin Rice and Dillon Rice, all of Poplar Bluff; his cousin and best friend, Charlie Fox, of Poplar Bluff; and three sisters, Evelyn Weaver, of Clarkton, Carolyn Burkeen, of Bowling Green, Ky. and Ann Rogers, of Rolla.

A brother, Eldon Hafford preceded Mr. Hafford in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Rick White officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
