L. B. Butler, 75, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006
at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Butler was born July 15, 1931, in New Madrid, Mo. He was an active member of the First Church of God, in Poplar Bluff and a retired 20-year veteran of the United States Army, having served in the occupation of Japan, as well as Korea and Vietnam. For his services he was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
He was married to the former Peggy Jane Sinden. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Tressa Hornbeck, of Springtown, Tex. and Pam Stewart, of Poplar Bluff; a son, Joseph Allen Butler, of Hopewell, Va.; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Bessie Epley, of Ballwin and Louise Guies, of Tex.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Triplett officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
