Katie Marie (Roach) Loury

Katie Marie Loury, 81, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed from this life to her heavenly home Dec. 23, 2022, with loving family members at her side.

Katie was born June 23, 1941, to Lonnie and Arizona Roach.  She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School, received her LPN license in1971, and worked at Doctor’s Hospital and later for Dr. Alex Hoja at Northwest Medical Clinic.

On Sept. 6, 1958, she married Charles E. Loury in Poplar Bluff, where they made their home for 57 years.  He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2015.

Katie attended Westwood Baptist Church for over 20 years.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Loving her grandchildren was the highlight of her days.  She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Katie is survived by her son Kenneth Loury and wife Lisa of Doniphan; her daughter Gayla Wyatt and husband Dan of Poplar Bluff; her daughter-in-law Sheila Loury of Poplar Buff; two sisters, Anna Chapman of Texas and Terrie (David) Davis; brother Bennie (Beverly) Roach; sister-in-law Sonja Roach, and brother-in-law Greg Crites all of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren, Kristy (Michael) Jackson, Chad (Casey) Wyatt, Amanda (Mark) Howard, Ashley (Justin) Moore, Charmayne (Patrick) Edington, and Michael (Tia) Loury; and 11 great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Dawson, Caytie, Collins, Bailey, Kaden, Kylen, Kasen, Charleigh, Avery and Samuel.

In addition to her husband and parents, Katie was preceded in death by her son Charles ‘Chuck’ Loury, a granddaughter Harper Moore and her siblings Jack Roach and Carolyn Crites and brother-in-law Joe Chapman.

Visitation will begin at 10 am Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11 am with Pastor Shawn Strickland officiating. Burial will be at Sparkman Cemetery.
