Karen Sue (Bazzell) Mcginnis

Karen Sue McGinnis was born April 1, 1967, and passed away at her home Feb. 6, 2022.

Karen loved to talk and to laugh. She loved to feed people that she loved —that was one of her love languages. She loved cooking, baking, plants, animals and playing video games.

At just 19, Karen had a life changing experience. She was hit by a semi and sustained a back injury leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Throughout the years Karen went through countless surgeries, procedures, and doctors’ appointments. She was always grateful just to be alive! Karen was a beacon of happiness and joy.  She loved to talk to and visit with her friends and family. She cared about taking care of others more than herself. She loved big and very hard! We will all miss her, and her loss will be felt for all of our lifetimes. Let your grief be lessened by the thought that she is no longer bound to her wheelchair and is finally free of pain. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend and would want everyone to be happy.

The visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
