Karen Embree, 69, of Poplar Bluff passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Karen was born October 15, 1951, to Johnny and Jacqueline (Holtzhouser) Thompson in San Antonio, Texas. She and Thomas “Tom” Embree were married August 21, 1969, in Piggott, Arkansas.
Karen was an associate for J.C. Penney for 38 years until retirement.
Karen loved attending craft shows, reading, shopping, and spending time with her granddaughter, Addyson.
In addition to her loving husband, Karen is survived by a daughter, Amanda “Mandy” (Darin) Deckerd of Perryville; a granddaughter, Addyson Deckerd of Perryville; and a brother Larry (Peggy) Thompson of Sullivan, Missouri.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 6, 2021, from 11AM until time of service at Willow Ridge Funeral and Cremation Services. Services will be held at Noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
