June W. Rice

June W. Rice, 69, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 at the Mark Twain Caring Center, in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Rice was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Malden. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, in Poplar Bluff where she had worked in the church nursery for 21 years. Mrs. Rice enjoyed her church and spending time with her husband and family.

On Nov. 16, 2001, she married Dawsey Rice, in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include her son, Jimmy Blair, of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Josie Young and Barbara Elsworth, both of Poplar Bluff and Shirley Heffner, of Patterson, Mo.; four brothers, Jessie W. Winberry, of Cahokia, Ill., James Winberry, of Ozark, Ala., Shelby Winberry, of Kansas City, Mo. and Willie Winberry, of Jackson, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Tabernacle, with the Rev. Bryan Parkey officiating. Burial will be at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
