Julia Buchanan

Julia Buchanan, 61, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Buchanan was born Dec. 19, 1946, in Parma, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a homemaker. Ms. Buchanan enjoyed spending time with her family, helping other people, and playing Bingo.

Survivors include her companion and father of her children, J. W. Williams, of Poplar Bluff; a daughter, Granita Buchanan, of Poplar Bluff; three sons, Jay Buchanan, of Silverdale Wash., Marco Buchanan, of Poplar Bluff and Mark Buchanan, of Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; seven sisters, Sandra Tate and Corliss Weathersby, both of Little Rock, Ark., Edna Hester, Pearlie Jennings and Doris Brandon, all of Poplar Bluff, Shirley Buchanan, of St. Louis and Dessie Campbell, of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Herman McKellar, of Indianapolis, Ind. and David Stewart, of Jackson, Mo.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at True Believers Missionary Baptist Church, at 510 North C St., in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Church with the Rev. Johnny Williams officiating. Burial will be at Morocco Cemetery, in Butler County.
