Juanita E Clayton

Juanita E. Clayton passed away July 17, 2021 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, MO.

Juanita was born October 8, 1925 to the late Roy T. and Florence (Bratcher) Bounds in Griffithville, Arkansas.  She graduated from Williamsville High School and Brown Business College. Juanita worked at Poplar Bluff Hospital and Missouri Natural Gas (Spire) from where she retired in 1987 after 30 years of service.

On September 15, 1946 she married the late Howard C. Clayton.  Howard preceded her in death on February 7, 2000.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Lloyd, Edward, Norman, and MB Bounds and her sister Lois Tedrick.  Juanita is survived by two children, Gary Clayton (Marsha) of Chatham, IL and Rita Schalk (Sam) of Poplar Bluff, MO.  Her grandchildren Eric (Kariann), Melanie, and Lori Schalk all of Poplar Bluff, MO.  Howard (Skip) Clayton (Laurie), Bill Clayton (Sarah), Mark Clayton (Kacie), Jimmy Clayton (Brittany) all of Chatham, IL. Eleven great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Laine, Samantha, and Clayton Schalk of Poplar Bluff, Carly, Halle, Kendall, Cohen, Grady, Jace, and Bode Clayton of Chatham, IL.

Juanita was a charter member of Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.  She was also a volunteer and contributor to the United Gospel Rescue Mission.

Visitation and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10:30 at Fellowship General Baptist Church. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Fellowship General Baptist Church.
