Joseph "Joey" Marrs Jr.

Joseph Allen Marrs Jr., 9 years old, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Joey was born on November 18, 2014, to Joseph Marrs Sr. and Renee Johnson in Chicago, Illinois.

Joey attended 3rd grade at Oak Grove Elementary. His quirky, fun, and passionate personality earned him friends everywhere he went. Joey was quite the gamer and YouTuber. He liked to play video games and spend time with his family. Although he was a little man, he had larger than life goals from a very young age. Joey had plans to become a scientist and hoped to cure diabetes and cancer one day. Joey was one of a kind. His smile and laugh will live on in our hearts forever.

Joey is survived by his parents, Joseph Marrs Sr. & Renee Johnson; five siblings, Josh Fontan, Jordan Fontan, Fantasia Marrs, Krista Johnson, and Jadon Simmons; grandparents, Linda Johnson, and Donna Hatfield; along with an abundance of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 07, 2023, from 3:00-4:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO. Memorial service will follow beginning at 4:00pm with family friend Greg Hill officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
