Johnny Leon Burkhart

Johnny Leon Burkhart, 64, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023.

Johnny was born on July 27, 1959, to Dorothy May Burkhart in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He married Patricia Balch on September 10, 1984, also in Poplar Bluff.

Johnny was a believer of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed watching wrestling, Walking Dead, and Survivor, to name a few of his tv interests. Johnny liked teetering with small engines, especially lawnmowers. He liked to swim, go on walks, and work around the yard. Although he worked at several places over the years, Johnny's job as janitor for the Poplar Bluff School District was his proudest position. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Patricia; five brothers, Dale, Jimmy (Linda), Frankie (Barb), Bobby Joe, and James (Sue) Burkhart; stepdaughter, Susan Balch; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Johnny was preceded in death his mother, Dorothy Burkhart; one brother, Gilbert Burkhart; one sister, Martha "Susie" Scarlett.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 10:00-11:00am at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Ash Hill Cemetery.
