Johnie Joel Elwell

Johnie Joel Elwell, 72, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Johnie was born on July 29, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri to Bruce and Geneiva (Bledsoe) Elwell. He married Rhonda (Lock) Elwell on June 25, 2002, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Johnie was an avid hunter and fisherman. Johnie had a dry sense of humor that had a way of making everyone laugh even when he wasn't trying to be funny. He enjoyed watching tv, especially the history channel and comedies. His family considered him to be quite the history buff. Johnie will truly be missed.

Johnie is survived by his wife, Rhonda; five children, Bridget (Joe) Stegall, William (Jennifer) Green, Trish Brown, Eric Green, and Alicia Elwell; one sister, Denise; thirteen grandchildren, Cassie, Edward, Kadin, Trenton, Emma, Mason, Kelcee, Drionna, Jerricka, Tymber, Summer, Anna, Emersyn; and three great-grandchildren.

Johnie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; son, Ryan Elwell; daughter, Rachel Green; and son-in-law, David Brown.
