John Donald Mills

John Donald Mills, 85, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Friday, February 15, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

John was born on July 01, 1938, to Archie and Fanny Alma Propst Mills in Elvins, Missouri. He married Wilma Low on September 15, 1962, in Bernie, Missouri.

John retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation after 43 years of service to the State building and maintaining roads. He enjoyed supporting the St. Louis Cardinals and the Mizzou teams, as well as other sports. He enjoyed bowling, vacation trips, especially those after retirement. He was a beloved uncle to his many nephews and nieces.

He was the youngest of his family, and besides his parents, his sisters and brother predeceased him: Pauline (and Edgar) Barnes, Kenneth (and Mary) Mills, Ellen Mills, Betty (and Gene) Shelton, and Alma Fay Mills.

John is survived by his wife, Wilma Mills, along with numerous extended family and friends.

The family wishes to express deep appreciation to Betty Whitehead for her care and assistance.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 12:00-1:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral will follow beginning at 1:00pm with Dr. Douglas Low officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
