John Robert Francis

John Robert Francis, 75, of Poplar Bluff passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Francis was born July 28, 1932, in Cape Girardeau. He was a self-employed farm owner, and owner of Francis Enterprises, in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Francis was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting.

On Oct. 30, 1952, he married Joan West, in Paragould, Ark. She survives.

Survivors include his daughter, Julie Sievers and husband David; son, John Francis, Jr. and wife Susan, all of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, Justin Francis, Jake Francis, Stephanie Francis, Shelby Sievers and Sierra Sievers; and sister, Pat Pierce, of Poplar Bluff;

His parents, Theodore and Myrtle (Cross) Francis, and brother, Theodore Francis, Jr. preceded him in death.

A graveside service with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff with Pastor Sam Roethemeyer officiating.
