John Scott Curtis

Scott Curtis, 51, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Murray, Ky. died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Murray was born Oct. 17, 1956, in St. Louis. One of the first of three managers for Briggs and Stratton when it began its operation in 1989, Mr. Curtis served as PERMAC Manager for the past 15 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching all types of sports.

On July 9, 1977, he married Tammy Grooms, in Fulton, KY. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughter, Casey Curtis, of Poplar Bluff; father, Charles Curtis, of South Fulton, Tenn.; sister, Jan Johnson and husband Jay, of Visalia, Calif.; and two brothers, Chuck Curtis and wife Kim, of South Fulton, Tenn. and Drew Curtis and wife Becky, of Nashville. Tenn.

His mother Wilma (Childress) Curtis preceded him in death in 1996.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with Pastor Ed Cassetty officiating.
