Joanne Catherine (Pedrick) Carey

Joanne Catherine Carey, 65, of Poplar Bluff, passed away in her home on Saturday, August 1, 2020.  She was born on January 8, 1955 in Baltimore, MD to Edward and Elizabeth (DiGiacomo) Pedrick.

Joanne grew up in Baltimore, where she met and later married the love of her life John Carey on July 28, 1973.  They were happily married for 47 years. They had met and fell in love in school staying together for 52 years.  Joanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved and excelled at all her artistic passions, and would often draw, paint and crochet; but more importantly, she loved and cherished her family.  Joanne will be remembered for the unconditional love she had for her family and the never ending support she bestowed upon them.  She constantly strived to provide them with the best life they could have and spent everyday working to make that a reality.  Joanne will live on through the wisdom and advice she offered to an ever growing family that will always remember her.  Joanne would not want us to mourn her passing but rather celebrate the joyful memories she created with anyone she knew and cared for.  She will be remembered as the cheerful, considerate and intelligent woman she was.

In addition to her loving husband, Joanne is survived by two sons, Michael (Chaisty) Carey of Cheyenne, WY, Matthew (Renee) Carey of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren, Genevieve (Jayce Morgan) Carey of Austin, TX, Megan (Denis) Girardin of Cheyenne, WY, Sarah Carey of Poplar Bluff, Elizabeth Carey of Cheyenne, WY, Colin Carey of Cheyenne, WY, and Jonathan Carey of Poplar Bluff; and three brothers, Edward Pedrick Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth Pedrick of Grafton, WV, Richard (Donna) Pedrick of Centreville, MD.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters-in-law, Sue Pedrick and Denise Pedrick.
