Jeweral "Shaft" Devon Brown Jr.

Jeweral "Shaft" Devon Brown Jr., 55, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, at his home.

Shaft was born on September 5, 1965, to Jeweral Devon Brown Sr. and Barbara Jean (Colenburg) Brown in St. Louis, Missouri.

Shaft enjoyed hanging out and visiting with friends and family, reading, cooking, and BBQing. He loved to spend time outdoors, fishing with his dad, hiking or working on vehicles. Shaft was a very creative person and could do anything he set his mind to. He was a great family man who always offered up good advice to his sons and would listen for as long as needed. Not only was he a wonderful dad, but also became a loving and caring grandpa.

Shaft is survived by three sons, Jeweral "Trey" Devon Brown III, Jakeel Lamarr Brown, and Jarvis Brown, all of Poplar Bluff; six siblings, Jewrene Denise Brown of Poplar Bluff, Retha Orlean (Eddie Charles) Thorton of Poplar Bluff, Corra "Tina" Brown of Poplar Bluff, Tomaleata Anette (Tommy Lee) Washington of Manor, Texas, Vaniecia Lynette (John M.) Edwards of Buda, Texas, and Barbara Jean (Jonathan) Wright of Clayton, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Donte Kole Brown, Kyrie Jordan Brown, and Jeweral Devon Brown IIII.

Shaft was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday July 29, 2021, from 12:00-1:00pm at Cotrell Funeral Service. Funeral service will follow beginning at 1:00pm with Bishop Ron Webb officiating. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
