Jeweral Devon Brown Sr.

Jeweral Devon Brown Sr., 79, of Broseley, MO passed away Monday July 26, 2021, at his home.

Jeweral was born on February 5, 1942, to Edward and Lillie (Fields) Brown in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He married Barbara Jean Colenburg on January 10, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Jeweral enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to the blues, watching westerns, and gardening. He greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends.

Jeweral is survived by six children, Jewrene Denise Brown of Poplar Bluff, Retha Orlean (Eddie Charles) Thorton of Poplar Bluff, Corra "Tina" Brown of Poplar Bluff, Tomaleata Anette (Tommy Lee) Washington of Manor, Texas, Vaniecia Lynette (John M.) Edwards of Buda, Texas, and Barbara Jean (Jonathan) Wright of Clayton, North Carolina; three sisters, Dorothy Diane Williams, Pauline Taylor, Darlene Brown all of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Willie Brown of Broseley and Edward Brown Jr. of St. Louis; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jeweral was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Jeweral "Shaft" Devon Brown Jr.; and one brother, Willup Brown.

Visitation will be held on Thursday July 29, 2021, from 12:00-1:00pm at Cotrell Funeral Service. Funeral service will follow beginning at 1:00pm with Bishop Ron Webb officiating. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
