Jerry Herbert White

Jerry Herbert White, 86, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in Frenchburg, KY. He was born May 27, 1938, in Bruno, Madison County, MO to the late Herbert Pinkney White and Pauline Hixson White.

Jerry was a veteran of the Army National Guard from 1956-1962. Jerry worked for GM for 47 years in the Corvette Division in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was a cattle farmer and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Jerry was a member of the UAW 2164, also UAWs Bass Fishing Club. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, MO in 1957. In his high school days, Jerry was a talented athlete and excelled in Football and Track. His fellow athletes nicknamed him “Rabbit” because of his speed.

Jerry and Patricia May Acord were married in May 1967. Together they were avid antiquers and shared an antique business.

In the last year of his life, he was under the devoted care of Dovie Smallwood and Sheila Barnett. The family is thankful for the compassion and loving care that was given.

Jerry is survived by sister, Freda White Crouch of Mt Sterling KY and Linda White Markel (Jim) of Poplar Bluff, MO.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Acord White; brothers, Robert White and Roy Earl White; and sister Ruth Ann White.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, beginning at 11:00am at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
