Jerry Lynn Parkin

Jerry Lynn Parkin, age 58, of Poplar Bluff, died June 23, 2006 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Parkin's death was sudden and unexpected, as a result of complications of a brain aneurysm. He was born September 5, 1947 in Poplar Bluff to Earl W. and Pearl E. (Greer) Parkin. He was a self-employed truck driver and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Parkin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Parkin served in the Army and was a decorated Vietnam veteran.

On May 30, 1981 he was married to Shirley Colter in Poplar Bluff and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Chip Parkin of St. Clair and one daughter Andrea Donze and husband Lance of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Zachary Parkin and Hailey Parkin of Dorr, Michigan; Jason Donze and Matthew Donze of Poplar Bluff; his mother Pearl E. Parkin of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Donnie Parkin and wife Susan of Poplar Bluff and Gary Earl Parkin of Poplar Bluff; and one sister Lee Buerge and husband Rich of Aspen, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl W. Parkin on Feb. 16, 2005.
