Jerris Byron Fowler

Jerris Byron ""Jerry"" Fowler, 57, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at his residence.

Mr. Fowler, son of the late Buren and Claudia (Brown) Fowler, was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. He was of the Baptist faith; a former custodian for Poplar Bluff Senior High School and for the last 20 years had been employed as a parts salesman for Poplar Bluff Auto Parts. Mr. Fowler was also a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, baseball, fishing and watching wrestling.

On Oct. 16, 1982, he married Karen Sheppard, in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Jerry Joe Fowler and wife Teresa, Steven Fowler, Scott Fowler, Devin Sheppard and wife Sarah, all of Poplar Bluff; five children he raised as his own, Daniel Anderson, of Paragould, Ark. and Ricky Thurman, Adam Steiger, Steven Anderson and James Hicks, all of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Amber Nicole Fowler, Kaity Paige Fowler and Brendan Joseph Fowler, all of Poplar Bluff; and three sisters, Joan Bulger, of Collinsville, Ill., Sharon Blue and Kathy Ham and husband Donnie, all of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel, with the Rev. Gary Hancock officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
