Jeffrey William Drury

Jeffrey William Drury, 38, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Jeff was born on November 25, 1986, to William and Laura (Whitworth) Drury in Poplar Bluff.

Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing and hunting. In his younger years he was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Jeff had a special spot in his heart for animals and he considered his pets family. He played football and baseball for the Mules and graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 2005. He attended Three River College where he obtained his associate’s degree before continuing his education at Mizzou. Jeff joined the Missouri National Guard in 2016. He became a Military Police Officer and was deployed to Guantanamo Bay and Ferguson, Missouri. Jeff was known to have a great sense of humor and wonderful smile. He will truly be missed.

Jeff is survived by his parents, William and Laura Drury; brother, Christopher (Meghan) Drury; uncle, Steve (Terena) Whitworth; cousins, Andy Whitworth and Matt (Jenna) Whitworth, along with their children, Owen, Lyla, and Killian; two special canine companions, Hank and River.

Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 10:30am-12:00pm at First United Methodist Church. Celebration of Life will follow beginning at Noon with Pastor Jason Jordan and Pastor John Gregory officiating. A private burial with full military honors will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Margaret Harwell Art Museum, Poplar Bluff History Museum, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
