James Kenneth Glidewell

James Kenneth Glidewell, 94, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Cedargate Health Care.

Ken was born on December 8, 1929, to Mack and Viola (Wray) Glidewell in Detroit, Michigan. He married Ruby Mae (Fuller) Glidewell, on March 17, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas.

Ken was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked watching boxing and other sporting events. In his younger years, he participated in church softball leagues and was known to be a good pitcher. Ken enjoyed attending church and spending time with his family.

Ken is survived by two sons, Kerry Glidewell and Randy (Sarah) Glidewell; daughter-in-law, Beth Glidewell; stepson, Terry (Vicki) Sexton; stepdaughter, Judy (Dorton) Cannon; ten grandchildren, Kim Fly, Tracie Brammlet, Josh Glidewell, Clay Glidewell, Cara Glidewell, Christian Hornwell, Cassie Taylor, Amanda Turley, Nikki Heuiser, and Nakia Sexton; numerous great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Mae Glidewell and second wife, Doris Sexton; son, Ron Glidewell; two brothers; one sister; granddaughter, Rebecca Daigle.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. Kenneth will be laid to rest next to his wife, Ruby Glidewell in Forrest Park Cemetery, in Forrest City, Arkansas.
