James "Jim" Lee Cochran

James “Jim” Lee Cochran of Petal, Mississippi, formerly of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on February 1st, 2023 at the age of 88. He was born on November 19, 1934 in Ferguson, MO to Jasper and Maude Cochran. He was a 1952 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany. On December 5, 1954 Jim married the love of his life, Norma Jean Gardner. He started working for the local Sherwin Williams paint store as an assistant manager at the age of 26. He eventually became the store manager and retired at the age of 62. He was an avid hunter and golfer. He attended the First Church of God in Poplar Bluff before moving to Mississippi.

He is survived by a sister, Joan (Charles) Hillis of Poplar Bluff, and one brother, William Cochran of Troy, MO. Two sons; Mike (Tracy) Cochran of Petal, MS, and Mark (Jan) Cochran of Tulsa, OK, 4 granddaughters, 3 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 61 years, Norma Jean Cochran.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 5:30-7:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO.  Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, starting at 10:00am with Pastor Richard Triplett officiating.  Burial will take place at the Cochran Cemetery.
