James William Kammerer

James William Kammerer, 75, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

James was born on April 9, 1948, to Joseph and Mildred (Williams) Kammerer in East St. Louis, Illinois. He married Diana (Jester) on December 17, 1975, in St. Louis, Missouri.

James was a member of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was an active and heavily involved member of the Bluff City Eagle's #3730 for over 35 years. He enjoyed hunting and golfing in his spare time. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his beloved family. He will truly be missed.

James is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Diana Kammerer; two sons, Virgil (Cattleya) Bradbury and Gregory "Boomer" Kammerer; two daughters, Josephine (Aaron) Graeber and Crystal Betz; three brothers, Robert (Linda), Donald, Peter (Deborah) Kammerer; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

James was preceded in death by parents; one brother, Joseph Kammerer Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 02, 2023, from 6:00-7:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services.

Committal service and military honors will take place on Friday, November 03, 2023, at 9:00am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with Pastor Jim Schremp officiating.
