Ivajean Ruth (Tinker) Smith

IvaJean Ruth Smith, 89, of Poplar Bluff, MO, departed this life on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

IvaJean was born on September 29, 1933, to Harrison and Lillie (Mayse) Tinker in Hendrickson, Missouri. She married Oda Lee Smith Jr. on May 12, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas.

IvaJean had resided in Butler County, Missouri all her life. She spent her life caring for her husband and children on their family farm, working alongside her husband as needed. IvaJean was an excellent seamstress, making beautiful wedding dresses for each of her daughters. She happily fed birds from her deck; she especially loved cardinals and hummingbirds. IvaJean enjoyed crocheting, reading, and time spent with her husband and family. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Fellowship General Baptist Church.

IvaJean is survived by her three daughters, Patti Leamon Davis (Ken), Barbi Johnson (Joe) and Becky Hayes (Roger); five grandchildren, Amanda Summers (Brent), Stephen Leamon (Aurel), Elizabeth Gillean (Will), Tyler Hayes, and Amy Walker (Ethan); eight great-grandchildren, Macie Robertson, Blaine Summers, Baylen Summers, Willow Gillean, Clover Gillean, Remi Walker, Lilli Walker, and Abbi Walker; one brother, Lew Tinker (Jo).

IvaJean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Lorene Colvin; two brothers, Creed Tinker and Don Tinker.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 10:00-11:00am at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Byron Beck officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
