Imogene H. Couch, 92, of Aledo, Ill., formerly of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at the Mercer County Hospital, in Aledo.
Mrs. Couch was born May 3, 1914, in Poplar Bluff. She had retired after 31 years as an elementary school teacher in the Poplar Bluff Schools. Mrs. Couch was a member of the First Christian Church, in Poplar Bluff where she was also a member of the Gleaner's Sunday School Class; a member of the Missouri Retired Teacher's Association and the MOPAC Club. While residing in Poplar Bluff, she was active in her church, the schools and various community activities. She enjoyed spending time with her family and yard work.
On April 27, 1940, she married Harvey Couch. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1979.
Survivors include her son, Rev. Kenneth Sloan-Couch, of Reynolds, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006 at the First Christian Church, in Poplar Bluff. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Church, with Dr. Steven Williams officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
