Ilene Seawright

Ilene Seawright, 84, of Poplar Bluff, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Seawright was born April 9, 1923, in Johnsons Chapel, Tenn. to the late Wesley and Lou (Steele) Johnson. A homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith and a retired beautician. Mrs. Seawright enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.

On Jan. 25, 1941, she married James C. Seawright. He preceded her in death, on July 3, 1986.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat Shy, of Festus and Jennifer Bequette, of Fisk; two sons, Philip Seawright, of Bay St. Louis, Miss. and Chris Seawright, of Horse Shoe Bend, Ark.; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 13 great great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Porter, of Mt. Vernon; and brother, Charlie Johnson, of Harlingen, Tex.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service and burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the City Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating.
