Howard Aldon Rains, 85, of Quincy, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Rains was born July 20, 1922, in Poplar Bluff. He was of the Baptist faith, and was a self-employed auto mechanic. Mr. Rains enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing and hunting.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Moore and Wilma Kay Carter, both of Poplar Bluff; four sons, Howard Robert Rains, of Ellsinore, James Rains, of Warsaw and Alfred Rains and Charley Rains, both of Quincy; 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Chapel with the Rev. Ted Elledge officiating. Burial will be at Shilo Cemetery, off County Road 412, in Butler County.
