Hilda Louise Gamblin, 96, of Maryland Heights, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at NHC Healthcare Center, in Maryland Heights.
Mrs. Gamblin was born Jan. 28, 1911, in St. Genevieve. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and had retired as a saleslady and seamstress for J. C. Penney's and Garfinkel's. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her church and in her free time she loved to sew.
On Nov. 14, 1933, she married Verner Clark Gamblin. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1974.
Survivors include daughter, Janice Catherine Hall, of Poplar Bluff; son, Daniel Joseph Gamblin and wife Judy, of O'Fallon; son-in-law, Thomas Reidy, of St. Charles; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Her parents, Joseph Samuel and Pauline Regina (Melcher) Guethle, daughter, Donnis Reidy, sister, Erma Bochold and brothers, Raymond Guethle and Oscan Guethle also preceded Mrs. Gamblin in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Poplar Bluff with Father Kyle Hill officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
