Hershel Edward Henson, 87, of McDonough, GA., formerly of Poplar Bluff, MO. died Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the Henry Medical Center, in Stockbridge, GA.
Mr. Henson was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Collinswood, TN. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and had retired in 1994 from the surgery department of Doctor's Hospital, in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Henson was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Merritt of Brooksville, FL. and Ann N. Malson, of Atlanta, GA; a son, Dr. Earl Douglas Henson, of Atlanta, GA; a brother Wayne Henson, Jr., of Poplar Bluff, MO; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Poplar Bluff, MO. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Church, with Pastor Glenn Marshall officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff, MO.
