Helen Zoe Davis

Helen Zoe Davis, 84, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Davis was born March 7, 1922, in Eureka, Ill. to the late Peter P. and Hazel (Richards) Darst. She was of the Methodist faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Davis loved to read and travel.

On Feb. 13, 1969, she married Alva Richard Davis, in Temperance, Mich. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1983.

Survivors include two children, Michael Allen Mercer, of Berkley, Mich. and Susan Ann Roberts, of Eagle Bend, Ind.; 3 grandchildren, Richard Mercer, Steven Roberts and Jared Roberts; nephew, Fred Curtis and wife Denise and their son Eric, of Goldthwaite, Tex.; niece, Dawn Reuter and husband Andy, and their children Joel and Olivia, of Elgin, Ill.; and her adopted family, Connie and Bill Marler and their children, Jamie and Gina Blalock, Robbie and Rachel Blalock, of Poplar Bluff, Champ and Laura Blalock, of Knoxville, Tenn., Mitch and Cathy Wood, of Memphis, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Mitchell Wood, Travis Blalock, Amanda Wood, Hannah Blalock, Hunter Blalock, Noah Blalock and Alex Blalock; and many friends.

A brother, Wayne W. Darst also preceded Mrs. Davis in death.

A private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
