Hattie Mae Wolfe

Hattie M. Pennington Lewis Wolfe, 84, of Kingston, OK, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died March 29, 2007 at the Kingston Family Care Center in Kingston. Mrs. Wolfe was born June 30, 1922 in Biggers, AR to the late Lester A. and Gertie M. (Marley) Pennington. She was the fifth of nine children and at an early age she moved with her family to Butler County. She attended Kremlin and Lone Hill schools. She retired after 34 years as Manager of the Army, Air Force Exchange. Her job took her to Wichita Falls, Texas, San Antonio, Texas, Little Rock, Ark. and Altus, OK. Upon her retirement she returned to Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Wolfe was of the Baptist faith; enjoyed needlepoint and embroidery and playing Skipbo and bingo. She was a member of the American Legion Post 153 in Poplar Bluff.

On November 29, 1942 she was married to Enoch Bedford Lewis in Harviell. In April 1955 she was married to Henry Wolfe in Cheyenne, WY. Both of her husbands preceded her in death.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Beatrice Jewell Yoder and husband Dan of Springfield, Tenn.; Patricia Mae Freeman and husband J. T. of Kingston, OK; Sharon Kay Seeds and companion Darryl Pearson of San Antonio, Tex.; 3 grandchildren, Randall Yoder, Michael Yoder and Joy Hilton; 8 great grandchildren, Savannah Yoder, Eric Yoder, Aaron Yoder, Spencer Yoder, Mason Yoder, Brogan Seeds, Milan Hilton and Jake Hilton; 3 sisters, Mary Pennington of Poplar Bluff, Ruth Whittom of Savannah, GA and Betty Widner of Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3rd at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dan Yoder officiating and Rev. Randall Yoder assisting. Burial will be in the Dicken Cemetery in Butler County.
