Harold ""Hal"" Anderson Leamon, 59, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Leamon was born Nov. 8, 1947, in Tampa, Fla. to Harold and Juanita Anderson Leamon. He was a lifelong resident of Poplar Bluff where he owned and operated Leamon Blemker Appliance Parts. He was later employed at Buddy's Dry Cleaners and Sierra Osage Treatment Center before becoming disabled in 2002. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Manufacturer's Assistance Group (MAG Sheltered Workshop) for over twenty years. Prior to his illness, Mr. Leamon had been active in church, serving as Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, choir member and on assorted boards and committees. He attended Fellowship General Baptist Church. Mr. Leamon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed duck and goose hunting. His other interests included woodworking, gardening and wildlife management.
On Aug. 27, 1977, he was married to Patricia ""Patti"" Smith, who survives.
Other survivors include two children, Stephen S. Leamon and Amanda Summers and her husband Brent, all of Poplar Bluff; his father, Harold H. Leamon, of Poplar Bluff; his sister, Nita D. Blemker, of Vincennes, Ind.; his great-aunt, Frances Anderson, of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 - 3 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Byron Beck officiating.
