Glenda Faye Hanks passed away on Dec 4, 2021 at Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale, Arizona, from complications related to breast cancer, which she had battled for the last 3 years.
Glenda was born to Bill and Betty (Gregory) Hanks on 27 Jan 1960 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School, and LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Glenda spent her adult life working in support services with various law enforcement agencies in Orange County, California, Salt Lake City, Utah, and since 1994, in the Scottsdale, Arizona Police Department, where for the last several years she was a Police Records Supervisor. She continued working until her diagnosis and treatment of an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2019 forced her to retire. Glenda loved working in the law enforcement environment. Several years ago she was very active in the founding and organization of AZLERMA – the dream of a few of Arizona’s law enforcement records professionals who recognized the need for standardized training, interdepartmental networking, and professional growth in the records field. She served at various times as President, and Vice President of the organization, as well as producing a newsletter for them for several years.
Glenda had a great heart, and an abundance of love to give to many, and was a good and loyal friend, sister, and aunt. She loved to travel, and to stay busy. She enjoyed cooking – especially making treats to share with friends and coworkers. She had a love and appreciation for beautiful things, and contributed by creating beautiful needlework, making jewelry, and preserving memories by scrapbooking. She enjoyed reaching out on social media to stay in touch and to be involved in the lives of those she loved.
She was loving, giving, cheerful and mischievous. Her friends and family loved her infectious giggle.
She has had a great love of cats since she was young, and treated them with love and respect.
Shortly before her death, she described herself as “The Most Wonderful Fur Mommy in the Whole World”
