Gerald "Lane" Reasons

Gerald "Lane" Reasons, 75, of Dudley, MO was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, May 03, 2022, by his parents, twin sisters, and many other family and friends.

Lane was born on October 22, 1946, to Frank and Fern (Joiner) Reasons in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He married Roena Hopkins on November 27, 1966, in Dudley, Missouri.

Lane was a born again Christian. During his lifetime he enjoyed serving in many areas of ministry, most recently serving as an elder, council member, and longtime member of Palace of Praise in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Lane always had an entrepreneurial spirit. He had ownership in several different businesses, including being the former owner of a residential care facility. His main love was selling insurance, which he did more than 40 years. He owned and operated a Farmers Insurance Agency in Poplar Bluff. Over the span of his insurance career, Lane won and obtained numerous awards to include: LUTCF designation and his greatest accomplishment of obtaining his CLU designation, which required many hours of dedicated studying. Outside of his career as an insurance agent, Lane was also a member of the Puxico School Board for several years. Lane enjoyed fishing in his spare time and relaxing outdoors. Golfing was another of his pastimes, although the rumor is.. he was never very good. Lane will be missed by all his family and friends. They look forward to the day they will be reunited with him in Heaven.

Lane is survived by his wife, Roena Reasons of Dudley, MO; three children, Nikki (Steve) Phillips of Puxico, MO, Amy (Richard) Yoebstl of Dudley, MO and Josh (Hannah) Reasons of Poplar Bluff, MO; one sister, Karen (Edward) Stephens of Wappapello, MO; six grandchildren, Matt (Dorthy) Phillips, Danielle (Aaron) Margrabe, Justin (Lindsey) Yoebstl, Cole (Elisabeth) Yoebstl, Lily Reasons, and Lucas Reasons; six great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Winston, Warren, Walker, and Brantley Phillips, Liam Margrabe, and future great-grandchild, Baby Jaxon Margrabe due in August; and one nephew, Shawn Patterson.

Lane was preceded in death by his parents, and twin sisters, Cynthia Ann and Candice Jan Reasons.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 06, 2022, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff, MO. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 07, 2022, at 11:00 am also at Palace of Praise, with Pastor Kent Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Puxico City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Palace of Praise kids and youth summer camps.
