Geraldine H. Edwards, 86, of Florence, Ala., formerly of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 in Florence.
Mrs. Edwards was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Illinois. She was a member of First Christian Church, in Florence, and was a retired Government employee. Mrs. Edwards enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, and reading and traveling particularly to foreign locations.
Preceding her in death were her husbands William H. Harwell, a combat casualty of World War II and Dr. Cyril Post. Her husband James T. ""Jay"" Edwards, of Florence, Ala. survives.
Other survivors include son, William H. ""Jay"" Harwell, Jr., of Ft. Worth, Tex.; stepchildren, Cyril A. F. Post, of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Susan Moore, of Columbia, Mo., Phillip Post, of Denver, Colo., Robert E. Post and Judy Post, both of St. Louis, and James T. ""Jim"" Edwards, of Nashville, Tenn.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special companion and caregiver, Pam Kelley, of Florence; and a host of friends and caretakers at Glenwood Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center, in Florence.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 11 a.m.
