Georgiabelle Heaton, 81, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday April 5, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Heaton was born June 28, 1926, in Poplar Bluff to the late George and Bessie (Bullock) Miller. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Heaton was also a member of the Monday Study Club, very active with Margaret Harwell Art Museum, and a former volunteer at Lucy Lee Hospital.
On the first day of spring 1947, she married Leroy Heaton in Piggott, AR. He survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Ann Carter and husband Mark, of Manitou Springs, Colo.; two sons, Bob Heaton and wife Nancy, of Memphis, Tenn. and Bill Heaton and wife Rhonda, of Jackson, Mo.; five grandchildren, Christopher Heaton, Melanie Moore, Rachel Whitlow, Philip Carter and Nicholas Carter; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob Purcell, Aden Purcell, Lexi Whitlow, Luke Murphy and Sophia Heaton.
Mrs. Heaton was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Miller, and a sister and twin brothers in infancy.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 450 No. Main St., in Poplar Bluff with Pastor Marty Reed officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.
