Floyd K. DeFord, 74, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. DeFord, son of the late Harvey and Maglene (McGowin) DeFord, was born Jan. 9, 1933, in Steele, Mo. He was of the Pentecostal faith, and was a retired construction worker and minister. Mr. DeFord was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading his Bible and visiting with his friends.
On July 19, 1952, he married Oma Jean Clark, in Piggott, Ark. She survives.
Other survivors include two children, Wayne DeFord and companion Susan Smithey, of Dallas, Tex., and Kelly DeFord and companion Christopher Chitwood, of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren, Brooke Pundsack and husband Chad, of Fairdealing, Kelli DeFord and companion Henry Nichols, of St. Louis, Jason DeFord, of Texas, Joshua DeFord and wife Mary Beth, of Poplar Bluff, Angel Smithey and Samantha Clark, both of Texas; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Nichols, Corey Pundsack, Jaden Swearingen, Keegan DeFord, and Carli Pundsack.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel with Pastor Russell E. Chitwood officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery, in Broseley.
