Ruby Faye Byrd, 85, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 at the Oakdale Care Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Byrd was born Nov. 16, 1921, in Lenoir, NC. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and had retired, in 1987 from Mercantile Bank. Mrs. Byrd was a volunteer at the First Baptist Church Christian Life Center and a former volunteer at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, golfing and reading.
On Dec. 26, 1958, she married Harold ""Wink"" Byrd, in St. Louis. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Pat McKim, of Piggott, Ark. and Diane Midyett, of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren, Mike Dillinger, Cathy Blyth, Gina Price, Richard Dillinger, Cindy Little and Margo Lacy; twelve great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Billie Arnold, of Baltimore, Md.
Her parents, Len and Jennifer (Lewis) Borders, two sisters, Lena Jenkins and Helen Jenkins, two brothers, Bob Borders and Jack Borders, one grandson, Shane Midyett and one great-great-granddaughter, Sydney Mylenbusch preceded Mrs. Byrd in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery, in Broseley.
