Evan Fonda Bascombe

Evan Fonda Bascombe, III, 18, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, June 4, 2007 at Current River, in Ripley County.

Evan was born July 29, 1988, in Chicago, Ill. and attended New Salem Baptist Church, in Portageville. An honor graduate of Poplar Bluff High School, Evan played on the Mules basketball team serving as team captain his senior year, and the track team and football team as well. He had attended Three Rivers Community College since January of 2007.

Survivors include his mother, Sharon (Jamerson) Winters, of Poplar Bluff; father, Evan Bascombe, Sr., of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, JoAnn Bascombe, of Baltimore, Md. and Arlecia Jamerson, of Poplar Bluff; brothers, Evan Bascombe, Jr. and Orlando Bascombe, both of Barbatos; grandmother, Gernice Walker, of Chicago; and special friend, Erica Spencer, of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mt. Calvary Power House Church, 1857 Speedway Dr., in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Dr. Ronnie Webb officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
