Eric Lee Berry, age 58, departed this earth on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at his residence in Poplar Bluff, MO, surrounded by his loving family.
Eric was born December 7, 1963, in Poplar Bluff to Ollie and Amy Berry, who both preceded him in death along with a sister Nancy Berry Hinton. Three siblings survive him: Neal (Valerie) Berry of Arlington, Virginia, and Phyllis (Dennis) Long and Keith (Lynnette) Berry of Poplar Bluff.
Eric was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a member of their Boy Scout Troop 366. He graduated from Poplar Bluff Senior High School in 1982. He soon after attended ITT Tech in Kansas City, Missouri. His greatest passion was music. He was incredibly talented in playing the trumpet and was a member of the Sho-Me Marching Band. He also loved playing the guitar, piano, and singing.
He married Janet Barks in August of 1986 and to their union two children were born: daughter, Ashley (Shawn) Wallis of Piedmont, and son Ian (Sarah) Berry of Navarre, Florida.
He entered the US Air Force in March of 1989 and worked as a Telephone System Craftsman while serving. During this time, he was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base, Holloman Air Base, Osan Air Base, Scott Air Force Base, and the United Arab Emirates. During his tour in the UAE, he entertained troops through playing music for the United Service Organizations (USO).
He ended his service in the Air Force in January of 2000. He worked at World Communications for a time as an information Technologist before returning to Poplar Bluff.
In March 2004 he married Patricia Davis and through their union gained three stepdaughters: Tabitha (JC) Daniel, Sabrina (Mike) McElhaney and Kristy (Andrew) Foutes all of Poplar Bluff.
He had twenty-three grandchildren who he loved dearly. Grandchildren: Ariel, Keagan, Trinity, Landon, Addison, Jeremiah, Jacob, Jimmy, Jodi, Tristan, Landyn, Mallory, Camille, Elizabeth, Evin, Kim, Kathy, Jasmine, Kiersten, Kayla, Anderson, Noah, and Jonah; and three great-grandchildren: Layla, Eli, and Jeremiah. Many other family and friends mourn his passing.
Visitation will begin at 1 pm Monday, March 7, 2022, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 pm.
