Edna May Sherman, 83, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 at St. Louis University Hospital.
Mrs. Sherman was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Chanute, Kans. She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church, and a retired private duty caregiver. Mrs. Sherman enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Cardinals Baseball and serving as a volunteer for R.S.V.P.
On Dec. 15, 1945, she married William Jackson Sherman. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Marie Goade and Bonnie Lee Pyles and husband Steve, all of Poplar Bluff; a son, Jack Richard Sherman, of St. Louis; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Anna Davis and husband Charlie, of Overland, Mo.; and a brother, Ralph Kirkhart, of St. Louis.
Her parents, J. T. and Lillian E. (Munstmond) Kirkhart, daughter, Eileen Elizabeth Sherman and sister, Isabell Marie Beaver also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Burial will be at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
