Earl Eugene Dame

Earl Eugene Dame, 77, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center, in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Dame was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Pocahontas, Ark. He was of the Baptist faith, and had retired from the truck division of General Motors, in Flint, Mich. Mr. Dame was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed being outdoors and woodworking.

On July 14, 1989, he married Maxine Geary. She preceded him in death on Aug. 31, 2000.

Survivors include his step-daughter, Joyce Johnson and husband Keith, of Savanna, Ill.; sister, Helen Bedsworth, of Festus; brother, Robert Lee Dame, of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
