Douglas Wayne Morris, 66, of Wappapello, Missouri sadly departed this life Friday, September 8, 2023, following a long history of physical illness.
Doug is survived by his wife, Dona Morris and his two daughters Miranda Morris (Graham Aldridge) and Lindsey Manson (Terry), as well as two grandchildren Adayln and Remington Manson. He is also survived by his three brothers: David Morris (Valerie), Jeff Morris (Pam), and Joel Morris (Beth). Doug was proceeded in death by his parents Allen Dee Morris and Janet Louise (Millard) Morris.
Doug was born on February 27, 1957, in Toddville, Iowa. He graduated in 1993 from Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas with a degree in Ministry. He married his love Dona Morris in 1984 and raised two daughters. Doug held many positions over the years, including engineer and conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad, but he most loved his time as a minister at the Toddville Free Methodist Church. He was also a proud veteran of the US Air Force.
Doug was passionate about his relationship with Christ, his Savior, and his life was a testament to his beliefs. He sought out opportunities to help and heal others and took every opportunity to share his faith. He was an active member of Wappapello United Methodist Church and valued the friendships he developed with fellow believers. In addition to his faith, Doug loved travel, golfing, and developed a reputation as a foodie amongst his family.
The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM and will be held at the Wappapello United Methodist Church with a luncheon to follow. No visitation will be held. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doug’s life.
