Dorothy M. Whitmer

Dorothy M. Whitmer, 67, of Poplar Bluff passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Whitmer was born Jan. 26, 1940, in Poplar Bluff. She was of the Baptist faith, and had retired as the owner and operator of an accounting and tax service. She enjoyed hunting and playing cards.

In 1957, she married Orville Eugene Whitmer. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2001.

Survivors include her sisters, Betty Latham and husband Gene, of Springfield, Pat Garrett and husband John, of Louisville, Ky. and Jody Milikan and husband Bill, of Marion, Ky.; brothers, Roger Desgranges and wife Janice and Marty Desgranges and wife Rhonda, all of Poplar Bluff; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Her parents Pete and Mattie (Foster) Desgranges and daughter Gina Whitmer also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel with the Rev. Luther Abbott officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
