Dorothy M. Rush, 99, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Rush was born July 15, 1907, in Scott County. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Rush enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to garden, sew and crochet.
On June 30, 1928, she married David H. ""Boad"" Rush, Sr. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1971.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosalie Finazzo and husband Dominic, of Destin, Fla.; two sons, Ronald J. Rush and wife Pearl, of Harviell and David H. Rush, Jr. and wife Patricia, of Poplar Bluff; 6 grandchildren, Donna Stovall, Gary Rush, David H. Rush, III, Pamela Rush Lewellen, John L. Rush and Paul A. Rush; 17 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gertrude Virginia Carey, of Flint, Mich. and Veneda Mae Zerbe, of Flushing, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her parents, Clifford and Betty M. (Hill) Moore, 4 sisters, Gladys Dearing, Mary Kathryn Stern, Colleen Wilson and Vera Lorene Presson, and two brothers, Roy Lester Moore and Vernon Ward Moore also preceded Mrs. Rush in death.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel with Pastor Don Seat officiating. Burial will be at Kinsey Cemetery, in Butler County.
