Dormilee (Holland) Rush

Dormilee Rush, 87, of St. Peters, Missouri, formerly of Poplar Bluff, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 10, 2023, surrounded by family and the loving caregivers of Mercy Hospice.

Dormilee, one of nine children, was born February 25, 1936, in Grandin, Missouri to Charles Elbert and Edith (Tipton) Holland. On June 19, 1955, she married the love of her life Darold E. Rush.  He passed into the arms of God on April 4, 2000. They were proud parents of two children, David E. Rush, and his wife Brenda (Blanton) Rush, and Diana L. McDonough and her husband Patrick McDonough.  Dormilee was blessed with four grandchildren, Kyle McDonough, Michael McDonough, Caleb Rush and his wife Ashley (Jacobs) Rush, and Aaron Rush.

Dormilee was the loving sister to Naomi Jones, Clyde Holland, Art Holland, Bill Holland, Edna Parr, Lois Wesley, LaVerne Holt and Eleanor Langton.  She was also sister-in-law and friend to many.

A brief gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:30 am Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel, with the funeral service following at 11:00 am.  Pastor Steve Patterson will officiate.  Burial will take place at Grandin Cemetery.
