Doris Sue (Dunaway) Mccord

Doris Sue McCord, 77, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Monday, October 07, 2024, at Cedargate Healthcare surrounded by her loving family.

Doris was born on September 05, 1947, to James and Lorene (Brandon) Dunaway in Kennett, Missouri.

Doris was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, fishing, and listening to country music. Doris worked at Walmart for around a decade until her retirement in 2017. While working there she gained many friends. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and canine companion Lucy. She will truly be missed.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Lisa (George) Asher and Dawn (Paul) Tinsley; two brothers, Don (Jean) Dunaway and Paul (Monica) Dunaway; eight grandchildren, Jason (Courtney), Jennifer, Sammie, Cheyenne, Shannon, Romeo, Courtney, and Sky; special nieces and nephew, Wendy (Phillip) Schalk, Lisa Dunaway, and Donald Dunaway; along with numerous great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, J.V. Barnett and second husband, Donald McCord; son, Jimmy Don Barnett; sister-in-law, Rosita Dunaway.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow beginning at Noon with Father Daniel Robles officiating. Burial will take place at Cochran Cemetery.
