Doris Lee (Freeman) Fitzwater

Doris Lee Fitzwater, 85, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Doris was born on August 1, 1939, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She married John Ellis Fitzwater in 1955.

Doris was of the Baptist faith. She liked to read and travel to new places with her family. She liked frogs and anything that had a frog design or print on it. She was known to be calm, cool and collected most of the time; but also had a fiery side to her. Doris's greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her son, John Fitzwater; two grandsons, Josh (Amanda) Fitzwater and Dustin (Bre) Fitzwater; nine great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Melissa Fitzwater; three sisters and two brothers.

Graveside will be held at Noon on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
