Dianna Vass

Dianna Marie “Whitmer” Vass, 73, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Dianna was born on March 30, 1948, to Norman and Mary Matilda Leon Hornbeck in Poplar Bluff.  She and Retired First Sergeant (USAR) Warren Angus Vass Jr. were originally united in 1966 and had a renewal of vows in 1978.  He preceded her in death.

Dianna is survived by four sons, Scott W. Vass Sr., Kevin Vass Sr., Kenneth Vass Sr., and Christopher Vass all of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Lester Slaughter of Poplar Bluff, Lesslie Whitmer of Poplar Bluff and Westlie Whitmer of St. Louis; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Lynda Irene Ruiz-Vass of San Antonio, Tx.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dianna was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Whitmer, Tommy Whitmer, and Doug Whitmer, a grandson, Scott W. Vass II, and a special friend, Wallis Chambers.

Dianna was loved by many and will be severely missed.
